For the first time in history, the referee will be wearing a video camera to officiate a Premier League game as Jarred Gillett is all set to officiate Manchester United's clash against Crystal Palace on Monday using a head-mounted 'RedCam' camera, according to .

The report also added that the video footage collected from the camera will be used in a one-off programme to highlight the incidents that happen while officiating a Premier League match. However, the footage won't be broadcast live.
In February 2024, German referee Daniel Schlager wore a similar camera during a Bundesliga clash between Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg and the footage was used in a show called 'Referees Mic'd up – Bundesliga'.
