Arsenal are one of three clubs in with a chance of signing Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord in the summer transfer window, a report claims.

  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Arsenal, Juventus and Atletico Madrid are all in the frame to sign the 23-year-old, reports. Gimenez has decided that he is ready to leave Feyenoord at the end of the season after two impressive years in Rotterdam and wants to move to one of Europe's bigger leagues.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The report says Gimenez will soon begin talks with clubs over a possible summer departure and it is believed that Feyenoord are open to selling him for the right price. The striker is leaning towards a move to La Liga as he feels it would be a good fit for his playing style. Barcelona and Real Madrid had also shown interest, too, but the former cannot afford to sign him and the capital club feel he is not ready for such a move, giving Atleti a good chance of signing him.

    Before he begins negotiations with the likes of Arsenal and Atletico, the forward will hope to fire Feyenoord to KNVB Beker success when they take on NEC in the final on Sunday.
